Inflation Causes Dues Increase

INCREASE IN BUCKHORN ANNUAL DUES

Buckhorn has the lowest dues in the Valrico area.  It’s been around 10 years since the Buckhorn HOA’s dues have been increased.  You know what has happened to the cost of everything since then, and it’s happened to us.

Unfortunately, your ALL-VOLUNTEER Buckhorn HOA Board Members have had to reconcile with reality.  Namely the pressures put upon us regarding the economy and the need to adjust our residents’ annual dues from $30.00 to $35.00.  Two-year memberships enjoy a discount and are only $65.00.  All Board members, who are also Buckhorn residents, pay the same dues amount.

We have been able to make adjustments and re-address some of the neighborhood’s desires to make it through 2023 without a dues increase.

We now need to share this news with you so we can sustain the valuable and appreciated programs and events that our neighbors enjoy and request.  Some of these benefits are listed below:

- Our website, www.Buckhorn.Us, is available to keep residents as well as folks looking to buy a home informed about Buckhorn as a great neighborhood to live, work and play

- Registered members get Buckhorn Blast emails regarding neighborhood events, activities, area news, crime reports, etc.

- Easter Parade and Bunny Bonanza Easter Egg Hunt at Buckhorn Park, free photo opportunity, face painting and refreshments

- American Flags placed at each home on Memorial Day and at each of our four entrances for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Veterans Day

- We award up to two $500.00 cash scholarships to graduating high school seniors from county or private schools who meet the eligibility requirements.  The parents of the scholarship applicants MUST be dues paying residents.

- We produce a bi-annual Buckhorn Newsletter that is very informative.  The newsletter is available in the spring and fall and is now posted on the Buckhorn website.

- We acknowledge two Yards Of The Quarter to recognize the work residents put forward to update and improve their yard and property.

- We sponsor two neighborhood garage sales annually by paying for ads and signs.  We also have Goodwill bring a collection trailer to Buckhorn Park for residents’ convenience in donating all unsold and unwanted items that can be used by others.

- We have a Halloween Haunted Egg Hunt and costume contest at Buckhorn Park complete with face painting, refreshments and photo opportunity.

- We have a NEW Night Halloween Lighted Parade that brings lots of enjoyment to kids and adults.

- Santa Claus Parade wends through Buckhorn and ends at Buckhorn Park featuring Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus meeting the kids.  We also have games, face painting, refreshments, and photo availability.

- We sponsor a Holiday Christmas Lights contest with cash paid to dues-paying residents who register their home in the contest.

- We have an award-winning Neighborhood Watch program that works diligently with residents and the Sheriff’s Office to keep Buckhorn residents safe and secure.

- We coordinated with the County Parks Department to provide our Buckhorn Park a 9-hole Frisbee Golf course, soccer goals, volleyball & basketball, child ball throw, NEW concrete 1/3-mile exercise path, monkey bars, slides and stairs for the young ones, swings and shelters.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO NOW!

Pay your dues electronically by going to our Buckhorn website,

www.buckhorn.us, or simply writing a check. That effort will demonstrate how much you support your volunteer Buckhorn HOA Board and appreciate the tremendous value you receive for a reasonable amount of dues paid. We sincerely appreciate your continued support!

Respectfully,

Your Buckhorn HOA and Neighborhood Watch
